Materials Management is significant for every company as it represents the central authority for the procurement and provision of materials for all needs in the company. The corresponding SAP application SAP MM helps with the implementation and processing of business processes relevant to material requirements, starting with the identification of material requirements, through the coordination of procurement processes, to the procurement of materials and settlement of supplier invoices.
The scope of tasks of Materials Management in the company is diverse: This includes finding procurement sources, building and establishing supplier relationships, price negotiations with suppliers, identifying material requirements in the company, internal procurement and external purchasing of materials as well as the storage and provision of materials in the company. By seamlessly integrating all relevant planning and financial processes, a company can be monitored, analyzed and optimize its material provisioning processes. This leads to increased process efficiency, strengthened supplier relationships, reduce procurement costs, and higher company profits.
Materials Management (SAP MM) is an integral part of the Logistics application (SAP LO) in SAP S/4HANA. Together with the other two main logistics applications - Production Planning (SAP PP) and Sales and Distribution (SAP SD) - it can consistently map all aspects of a company from a logistics perspective, including master data (customers, suppliers, materials), end business processes along the entire logistics supply chain (order processing, requirements planning, purchasing, production, delivery, shipping, billing) as well as monitoring and analysis of all business-relevant business partner, material and financial data. Integration with the financial application (SAP FI) makes it possible to map the financial supply chain as well as monitor and analyze all financially relevant aspects of the company's procurement processes. Integration with the controlling application (SAP CO) allows monitoring and analysis of costs, profits and profitability segments related to the procurement processes.

In particular, the practical experience with a "living" SAP S/4HANA system offers you a clear competitive advantage.
